COMPLICATED? Welcome to the 90's and the wonderful world of deregulation.
The purchasing of energy and telecommunications has never been more complex. Where
previously there were three or less choices in any given market, there are now literally
hundreds of choices. This increases the need for a third party expert to assist you
in sorting out the mess that deregulation has created.

PROBLEM! Our auditors keeps track of all the changes in tariffs and
applicable taxes, as well as watches the PUC and courts for changes in the laws that will
benefit our clients... the consumers! Unlike the utilities, we are out to serve your
best interest, and to save you money. We will perform a full scale audit of all of
your utility bills (electric, gas, water, sewer, and telecom), and present a report
explaining why and how we may be able to obtain refunds or reduce your monthly cost.
We will initiate and follow up on all actions with your service providers, and we
will only be paid on a contingency basis AFTER your company receives a refund or
verifiable reduction in cost.
HOW LARGE OF AN
ELECTRICITY - GAS USER DO I HAVE TO BE TO QUALIFY FOR YOUR SERVICE? For our
electrical and natural gas audits, we need to see combined billings, for all locations, of
at least $10,000 per month. This will make it worthwhile for you, and us. We offer
extensive knowledge of off-tariff arrangements available through your current utility, and
can often produce exceptional savings through contract negotiation.
WHAT IS THE RETAINER FEES CHARGED? This
small retainer fee offsets our direct costs...
We are compensated on performance. There is a $2500.00 fee, due upon the execution of the
contract, is fully recoverable by the client from the refunds or savings identified
through the audit. We identify savings in over 70% of our audits. This one time up-front
fee applies to all utility bill audits collectively. In other words we will audit your
electric bills, your gas, water, sewer and telecom bills with only one fee which is 100%
applied towards any future payments.
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN
PERFORMING A UTILITY AUDIT? The review takes very little time of our clients. Our
review involves the following simple stages:
1. Commencing The Audit; Obtaining Information. We obtain the utility
billing history detail from either the client or the vendor. We have developed draft
Letters of Agency which allow us to receive information directly from the utilities with
minimal effort from our clients. During this part of the audit process, we also discover
information about the facilities which we are auditing, as needed.
2. Performing The
Analysis. We enter the data in to usable formats which can then be used to set
billing parameters which indicate the need for further investigation. This involves using
our proprietary software programs, which were developed in-house, to verify billing
accuracy and correct application of tariffs. We emphasize a personal review of all
computer runs due to the application of personnel experience which a computer program can
not replicate.
It is our policy to constantly keep the client informed of the status of the audit through
progress reports and other communications while taking the lead on the activities to be
performed, reducing the Client's staff time involvement.
3. Final Report. Usually,
we can present the final report within sixty days of having all necessary information.
The report will detail all opportunities for cost reduction (including optimizing
tariff schedules) and identify any causes for refunds along with estimated values. We will
specifically spell out an action plan and draft any utility letters for the client's
letterhead and signature. Recommendations for the your company to perform more efficiently
and to eliminate future losses will be included in the report.
4. Obtaining
Refunds. (You will like this part!) All identified refunds will be pursued by our trained staff.
This will involve preparing, filing and providing all necessary assistance on behalf of
the client, including but not limited to the preparation and submission of claims to the
utility companies, and formal assistance as necessary or advisable for the client to
pursue refund claims to the state PUC. We will draft all letters to the utilities
and meet with the utilities to develop discussions as needed.
5. Future Cost
Reduction. We will prepare all discussions and correspondence to the utility
companies on behalf of the client, and shall meet with the utility companies (as
necessary) and negotiate on behalf of the client as required to reduce the cost of
utilities. We will follow up with the Utilities on all recommended action items and will
monitor savings throughout the term of the contract.
Furthermore, we will monitor the accounts throughout the term of the contract insuring
that the accounts are always served at the lowest available rate, as rates,
applicabilities and other factors are often revised by either the utility or the state
PUC.
